I'm a developer in transition: 3.5+ years of IT operations in a managed-services environment, now going deep on backend fundamentals — APIs, databases, and microservices.
I grew up in Puerto Rico and moved to New Jersey when I was 11. Leaving my family behind was the hardest part; the language was a barrier at first, but I picked it up quickly. It wasn't until I discovered Python and Arch Linux as a freshman in high school that I decided to study computer science — I did a year of CS at Middlesex County College, and I've been building things on Linux ever since.
These days I work in IT operations by day, write Python and Bash to automate my own life, and run a home Linux server for self-hosting experiments. I'm bilingual English/Spanish, and I live in NJ.
